Dyslexia Resources

Milan Middle School has a great team of teachers and instructional assistants trained in working with students displaying dyslexic tendencies in reading. The team uses the Susan Barton Reading and Spelling Program to help students improve their reading, spelling, and writing skills during R.E.A.D. time daily for 30 minutes of instruction. Students work through the following 10 levels of the program.

What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia is an inherited condition that makes it extremely difficult to read, write, and spell in your native language—despite at least average intelligence.

Signs of dyslexia 

This page describes the warning signs you may see in students from Preschool up until adulthood. If a child has 3 or more of the following warning signs, please consider reaching out to your child's teacher or dyslexia specialist.
